bO “BUTTERFLY”
This chair has been called "Butterfly" since its creation in 1938 by Antonio Bonet, Juan Kurchan and Jorge Ferrari-Hardoy, but it has other names too. It is known as BKF (after the initials of their surnames), as the Safari Armchair and, of course, as Butterfly. It became popular in the US in the forties, especially on the west coast, and in the fifties its fame grew until it earned a deserved spot in the MOMA in New York. We face one of the most representative icons of the twentieth century. Its unmistakable steel structure, light and robust at the same time, combined with the warmth of the oiled leather, offer a unique result. The Original Butterfly doesn’t go out of style and it is perfect for giving a distinct touch to any room. Take a good look at it... Do you feel it? Butterflies in your stomach.
